Iron and B12
We know Iron and B12 are essential for healthy red blood cell production and a minor deficiency can lead to major problems. When we are a participating in strenuous activity, running, bike riding, moving furniture, we are getting ourselves hot, sweating, breathing heavier. We are exerting stress on our cells, causing them to produce more energy from stored and available sources and this involves an increased consumption of Oxygen.
Iron and B12 are heavily dependent on the bacteria in our digestive system for activation into a form that is available for our cells to uptake. Unfortunately eating a diet rich in Iron and B12 food sources or taking a supplement is not enough to ensure adequate absorption and activation of these nutrients.
